Objective(s):
Objective(s): 1. Describe the current types of coronary stents and their implications during the perioperative period; 2. Formulate an anesthetic plan for patients with coronary stents; 3. Formulate a plan for the role of perioperative beta-blockade in the cardiac patient; 4. Perform a preoperative evaluation of the cardiac patient according to the AHA guidelines; 5. Develop a protocol for the performance of regional techniques in the patient on anti-platelet therapy; 6. Develop a protocol for patients with pacemakers and ICDs in place during anesthesia and surgery.
