Objective(s): ° Discuss the clinical issues surrounding undetected post-operative neuromuscular blockade; ° Employ techniques using neuromuscular blocking agents for short procedures; ° Discuss new strategies for reversal of neuromuscular blockade; ° Integrate into their practice methods to avoid undetected post-operative residual neuromuscular blockade; ° List the indications for neuromuscular blocking agents use in the ICU; ° Identify the sequelae associated with the use of neuromuscular blocking agents in the ICU; ° Develop a plan for management of critically ill patients requiring neuromuscular blockade in the ICU.
